This position is responsible for the architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance and development of a database environment to meet the customers expectations through the use of Service Level Agreements (SLA). The Database Administrator will contribute to the application architecture through development of database architectures, data storage strategies, and performance. Provide support for database scheduling and repeatable processes such as data backup, archiving and storage, output management, system monitoring, log management and development and QA database restores. The Database Administrator creates and tracks documentation on database-related procedures, processes, and code.1.Database Development (50%) Develop or manage database code features and schemas to meet design specifications: Build/manage schema and features of the desired solution based on specifications and design requirements. Conduct database code reviews during development to share knowledge and experience. Assess the quality level of the database features at the unit level. Conduct and document results of satisfactory unit-level testing of implemented code. Contribute to, and adhere to, database design development standards during solution development. The operational side of this role takes care of backup, restores, upgrades, performance issues in production, code release to production, and loads data to production systems as needed. The developmental side of this role models (both logically and physically), writes stored procedures, code reviews in SQL, SQL development work, and compiles release for production. Provide support for QA testing (e.g., unit system, integration, UAT) plans required to meet customer expectations and SLAs. Address quality issues identified in the QA Testing process.2.Security: (10%) Define policies and procedures for the protection of corporate data assets Create policies for data retention an secure data disposal Perform audit tracking on usage of data and produce reports to validate Manage data authentication and access methods requirements Contribute to user-policy usage and requirements (e.g., password policy)3. Infrastructure Development (20%) Operational DBA who takes care of backup, restores, upgrades, performance issues in production, code release to production, loads data to production systems as needed. Planning and managing the data management infrastructure to meet ever-changing business requirements. Managing strategy for the operations and support of the data management infrastructure Develop features that meet design specifications. Identify data architecture concerns for a distributed computing environment, client/server systems, services based architectures, and any supporting components. Assist in the development of deployment documentation. Developing and documenting the policies and procedures for consistent database infrastructure management, methodologies, and standards. Managing data server upgrades, builds, software installations and testing and deployment of platform hot-fixes and service packs.4.System Administration: (10%) Monitors key performance indicators and metric reports which allow insight for the IT organization into our ability to meet customer Service Level Agreements. Determine impact of new workload on databases Performs trend analysis on resource utilization Contributes to the development of standard operational procedures, policies, and priorities for the database environment.5.Project work: (10%) Performs other project work and activities as assigned to ensure continuous service to our internal and external customers.

Required Technical Skills : Microsoft Office Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 2008 Database management systems (DBMS) Database modeling tools Database development tools Server hardware proficiency Windows 7/Windows 2008 Server Ability to consider alternative solutions before making decisions; makes timely decisions; makes sound decisions based on adequate information; makes decisions in the face of uncertainty. Written and verbal communication skills to initiate professional and effective contact with internal and external customers. Problem solving ability, such as the ability to diagnose problems by separating essential from non-essential variables; ability to utilize appropriate resources to resolve an issue through to resolution. Ability to manage the demands of multiple projects through to timely completion. Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematics and statistics, ability to work with complex mathematical concepts and apply these to business situations. Understanding of key database development skills; such as relational modeling, job scheduling, SQL programming, and the development lifecycle.
