RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to: Review and analyze health care issues and concerns for implications for nursing practice. Represent MNA positions regarding practice issues, Nursing Practice Models, and Care Delivery Models among other nursing groups/organizations, health care groups/organizations, agencies, professional associations, and governmental bodies. Act as a resource to MNA members and staff on bargaining, regulatory and policy issues related to nursing practice. Prepare reports to staff and membership on issues related to nursing practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Registered Nurse required. Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices
- Knowledge of the role of nurses in both health care and other settings
- Knowledge of labor unions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others are essential. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are necessary.
- Ability to research print and online communications
