Service Technician at St. Paul

Join a national service organization offering training, safety and career advancement in the industrial weighing systems industry. As an Industrial Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration and service of customers weighing equipment. We are looking for someone that has a strong desire to learn a trade and wiliness to be part of a team that exceeds our customers expectations. We will provide basic and ongoing training, furnish a company vehicle and all the necessary equipment for the job.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Excellent customer service skills

Must possess a CDL (Class B) or willingness to obtain a CDL license within 90 days.

Able to work varied hours including weekends and holidays and travel to customers locations with occasional overnight travel.

Must be willing and able to work overtime (nights/weekends) to satisfy customer needs

Ability to work under pressure, alone and as part of a team, in variable working environments including the outdoors in inclement weather

Be able to pass background check, drug screen and physical (pre-employment and as customer require)

Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs on a regular basis

Ability to enter manhole opening 22 inches in diameter and crawl in confined spaces (scale pits), ability to kneel for prolonged periods to perform scale tasks

Represents self and Fairbanks in a positive, professional, and ethical manner toward customers, co-workers and vendors

Proven organizational skills to maintain inventory on company assigned truck, and complete jobs within an effective/efficient schedule

Detail oriented to accurately process paperwork within specified deadlines

Basic knowledge of computer and software

Must be able to pass State test for Service Agent in the Weighing Industry

Electronics and mechanical experience is a plus. Welding experience is desired but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation, inspection, calibration, repair and maintenance of industrial weighing and measuring equipment
  • Complete service documents and test reports for review with customers and submission to Customer Support Center
  • Provide consultation and quotations on product and services

Maintain DOT Hours of Service log book

  • Participate in the marketing and sales effort of the Customer Support Center to expand service revenues
  • Compliance with all Fairbanks policies, along with OSHA, MSHA and DOT regulations
  • Attend formal technical training courses as assigned by Area Service Manager (including out of state training)
