Electrical Engineer - Systems, Rochester, MN

We currently seek a high caliber Electrical Systems Engineer for a direct hire position within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Rochester, MN, you will be working for one of the world’s leading data and Information system companies.  Job Description:

• Continually establishes and/or reviews technical design, criteria, and specifications for all electrical systems; communicates to other engineers through standard details, Annual Report, and Master Specifications. 
• Maintains contacts with client representatives to ensure good communications and satisfactory progress of contracts deliverables.
• Prepares and/or reviews engineering estimates for planning purposes.
• Represents the discipline in key interdepartmental and client conference.
• Collaborates with peers to create new ways of saving money for the client.
• Assists project engineers in the selection of equipment.
• Occasionally reviews calculations, sketches, and layouts of other engineers and designers.
• Develops budgets, plans, forecasts, and plans own workload.
• Occasionally prepares or reviews specifications, calculations, and technical studies.
• Does Project Management at times.
• Works with suppliers to develop new technical concepts.
• Develops and prioritizes facilities improvement projects.
• Other duties as required.

    RequirementsJob Requirements:

• BS in Engineering/Architecture - Electrical 
• AutoCad experience
• A plus to have experience with the following systems:
  • 13.8 kV Electrical power distribution
  • 4160 volt power
  • 120 to 480 volt power
  • Generator Systems from 50 kW to 2 MW
  • Fire Alarm
  • Public Address
  • Cathodic Protection
  • Power Quality issues
  • Tracking utility costs, including electrical, gas, water, sewer
  • Assigning utility costs to occupancy types
• Must have familiarity with the following systems:
  • Security
  • Magnetic badge readers
  • Security Cameras
  • Fiber-optic trunk
  • Area Rescue intercom 
• Must annually prepare 5-year funding plans for each system, including:
  • Schedule
  • Capital
  • Expense
