Project Engineer - Vehicles

Looking for an opportunity to manage new projects from the idea/concept phase through production? Our client is looking for an energetic engineer with 5-10 years project management experience with complex vehicles who is highly organized and has managed large projects. JOB DESCRIPTION This position reports to the Engineering Manager and will provide you with the responsibilities of:

• Taking the project specifications and producing a time line with all tasks listed in order to complete the project using software similar to MS Project
• Ensuring the project stays on track and working with each functional area to communicate any changes
• Managing the product cost from early estimates to actual cost
• Understanding the resources required to support each project and gaining commitment and support from each department manager
• Holding individuals accountable for each task they are assigned
• Reporting the status of each project weekly in the Engineering staff update meetings
• Ensuring purchasing and production understand project requirements and are assigning the proper lead times to make the schedule on time

 RequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTS An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering REQUIRED
• 4 years minimum experience in a design or related position
• A minimum of 3 years project management experience
• Strong understanding of complex vehicle systems
• Excellent communication skills with varied personalities
• Capable of handling multiple projects with varying scope
• Strong print reading abilities
• Highly organized
• Willing to travel to customer and vendor locations (less than 10%)
