Sales Consultant - Minnesota at Minneapolis

Other Locations: MN-Minneapolis, MN-Rochester, MN-St Paul

Primary Duties:

Position Summary: The Sales Consultant is expected to travel throughout the assigned territory on a regular basis to visit our current and prospective K12 customers to conduct in-person sales consultation with faculty, curriculum director and administrators. Develops and implements plans to achieve goals. Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):
  • Engage in sales call activities to prospective customers to explore and present product solutions of both our textbook and digital products.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Create and execute strategic territory and business plans.
  • Drive new business to foster growth within the territory.
  • Provide accurate forecast and sales activity reporting through the use of company sales tools.
  • Participate, when appropriate, in network building opportunities within territory, including but not limited to conferences, group presentations, and industry functions.
  • Other duties as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Basic (Required)
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching, sales or publishing experience,
  • Demonstrable record of consistent sales and goal achievement performance.
  • Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to create and execute complex sales solutions.
  • Ability to establish, cultivate and maintain effective working relationship with customers, prospective customers, internal business partners, colleagues and management
  • Documented territory management and organizational skills
  • Strong competency in the use of business technologies, including PCs, mobile phones w/email and multiple applications, CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to transport materials to customer locations is critical to this role, therefore must be able to lift 50 lbs unaided and move up to 100 lbs with mechanical assistance.
Preferred Sales experience in and/or strong knowledge of digital information delivery, education or textbook industry.
