Job Description
Position is part of the Treasury Group Controller team and provides technical expertise and implementation guidance regarding accounting, SEC and regulatory reporting issues for the business unit. The Group Controller team is responsible for ensuring the overall system of internal controls provides reasonable assurance as to the integrity and reliability of the groups financial data, and the protection of assets and the prevention of unauthorized use or disposition of assets. Treasury products and businesses include fixed income investments, equity positions, wholesale funding (money markets and corporate debt instruments), interest rate management and associated hedge strategies, derivatives, limited trading activities, structured finance, and risk and insurance management.Position responsibilities include: Assists in directing Treasury accounting policy to ensure consistent and uniform accounting policies are developed and implemented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Wells Fargo policies including assisting with operational implementation of conclusions. Reviewing complex financial and business data to ensure the accuracy and completeness of SEC disclosures and regulatory reporting information. Managing projects to implement new or revised accounting standards and ensuring appropriate controls are developed and put in place to maintain compliance. Assisting in the investigation, response and resolution of audit questions or issues presented by internal and external auditors and regulators. Acting as liaison between business group leaders, finance and operations and the Corporate Controllers Division. Reviewing internally-developed financial reports including consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, footnotes and other external disclosures Reviewing, tracking, and disseminating current and proposed accounting literature with respect to current developments of the FASB, EITF, AICPA, and SECCore Skills Ability to summarize issues and communicate findings and recommendations to management. Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.Job Requirements
* Basic Qualifications:5+ years combined accounting/public accounting experience and CPA.
