Project Manager I (IRC8472) at Minneapolis

Job Description

This position is responsible for providing overall leadership direction tothe wind farmprojects. The project manager manages project safety and enhances customer relationships through providing excellent service. This project manager will mentor and provide leadership to the project team on the wind farm.


Leads People

  • Mentor and manage team members, time management, and developing client relationships on a single project
  • Foster strong teamwork orientation and be a resource for valuing and promoting diversity
  • Provide proactive and intentional leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site
  • Implement and/or establish project objectives and procedures
  • Analyze and resolve work problems
  • Build strong cross-cultural relationships and influence others internally and externally at all levels of the organization and resolve cross-cultural conflict in a culturally appropriate way
  • Directly supervise project superintendent, assistant project manager, field engineer(s), and project engineer(s)

Drives Business Results

  • Direct contract administration, procurement, scheduling and costing, supervise project, staff oversight and mentoring, risk management, and quality control
  • Manage coordination of site logistics to include road work, heavy lifting, electrical work and power
  • Provide direction to the project team to complete the projects safe and on time in commercial, industrial, or civil construction
  • Oversee adherence to the detailed project schedule
  • Deliver a profitable project in accordance to financial standards
  • Manage onsite administration of subcontracts
  • Collaborate with construction team on preconstruction tasks and project schedule
  • Analyze and resolve work problems and determine work method alternatives

  • Responsible for customer management with current project customer

  • Develop and implement a quality plan that ensures the design and construction of a project meets or exceeds the customers specified performance criteria
  • Work as part of a team in the development of client proposals and project estimates
  • Primary liaison when negotiating customer contracts
  • Ensure teams have the resources and support to provide far superior service

  • Assist in the development of initial sales, client proposals, and project estimates
  • Take care of and properly use company resources to ensure perpetuation of the organization for future generations
  • Achieve consistent outstanding results
  • Manage site work and logistics efficiently and look for ways to improve
  • Develop strategies to address underutilization and/or inclusiveness across the project
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement and process redesign
  • Work according to standard instruction and established procedures

Basic

  • Four year college degree inone of the following: Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent
  • 6 years previous experience required, wind experience a plus
  • Drivers license is required

Renewable Energy Group Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel 100%
