Lab Operations Leader at Rosemount

Job Description

As a member of the refinerys laboratory operation group, the Lab Operations Leader is responsible for the supervision, mentoring, training and development of the Laboratory Technicians (Lab Tech and Lab Tech Leads). This role will also be responsible for assisting the department in progressing toward the laboratory operation vision. In conjunction with the FHR Leadership expectations, this individual will be responsible for other daily tasks including, but not limited to: coaching, mentoring, conducting performance reviews, developing crew capabilities, identifying training needs, implementing a plan to close training needs, and staying current with administrative duties.

Environmental, health and safety goal attainment for the laboratory is a core responsibility of the Laboratory Operation Leader. Actions to include, but not limited to, implementation of a team safety plan, engaging crew in total safety culture, ensuring compliance training requirements are met, laboratory is clean and orderly, and appropriate/quality surveillance rounds are completed in a timely manner.

The Laboratory Operation Leader will also have ownership of the operating laboratory work process and will be responsible for all associated planning (including driving the coordination of maintenance work between the Mechanical Integrity Group and the Laboratory technicians). As the Laboratory Operation Leader, it is the individuals responsibility to understand the workload and capabilities required from the lab to ensure the refinery technical needs are adequately supported. As the leader you will also be involved in incident investigations and co-own the teams strategic improvement initiatives.

Work Experience/Skills/Education Required:

• Two years work experience in a refinery, chemical plant or utilities plant.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience/Skills Preferred:

• Prior field front line supervision experience
• Prior experience in laboratory operations.
• B.S. Chemistry
