Market Analyst, Energy at Inver Grove Heights

Responsibilities

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our CHS Hedging Division. We are looking for Market Analyst to join our growing team. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

You Will:

  • Work directly with the Energy price risk activities to include forming and executing risk management strategies for our customers.
  • Perform market analysis to support the hedging and trading decisions which maximize profit potential while effectively managing the risk of our customer base.
  • Directly responsible for positions, delivery and options for all assigned accounts and/or commodities. Work with OTC venders and determine market prices.
  • Managing existing accounts; identify & develop a customer base and create opportunities to increase market share for Energy Hedging accounts
  • Work with customers; update them on market trends, current quotes, and programs.
  • Create and write the daily energy wire containing market analysis and regular technical analysis video.
  • Monitor the macro-trends of financial markets and the global economy that can impact the respective commodity prices in the short, medium and long term.
  • Guarantee the reliability of the information obtained from external sources and exceed the pre-established parameters for commercialization set by the company, aiming for the maximization of profits in the operations.
  • Achieve energy department and CHS Hedging budget objectives.
  • Work closely with Hedging personnel in exchange of information; provide guidance and direction to other market analysts in regard to energy markets.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or an Agriculture related field
  • 4 years experience with commodity trading, research and technical analysis to include:
    • Energy transaction scheduling, trading, or contracts.
    • Energy trading using physical, delivery, basis and price risk and the techniques necessary to mitigate those risks.
    • Experience with options, and pricing of complex energy structures with customers.
    • Experience using risk position reports
    • Experience developing and executing strategies.
  • Series 3 license
  • Be knowledgeable of the state-of-the-art financial risk management methods and hedging techniques.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Agricultural commodity market experience is a plus.
