Positions in this function are involved in the definition, management, and implementation of significant technology focused projects. Focuses on IT projects, not for use as project management in non-IT roles. Positions are business specialists and technology generalists that manage, direct and interface with business clients. Align technology solutions with business strategies, working primarily with senior management. Proactively identify opportunities, conduct analyses, needs assessments, cost/benefit assessments and broker other IS services. Includes those involved in release management.Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the work flow of all projects
Interact with customers both internal and external to gather project requirements and act as liaison between customer and design team
Simultaneously lead several complex projects with varied, multiple deliverables, team members and audiences requiring ongoing prioritization and relationship management
Communicate job status information to all team members
Promote smooth workflow and communication between departments
Create and manage timelines for all projects
Ensure workflow progresses efficiently and projects/staff are organized as priorities shift
Maintain job tracking and time keeping database
Maintain and update project status report and run weekly status meetings
Help enhance and improve department processes
Communicate consolidated project milestones and deliverables for readiness
The ability to generate detailed project status reporting (including critical path impact, dependencies, milestones, resources, cost, work breakdown structures, etc.).
The ability to work in a matrix environment across cross functional teams
Workflow design, implementation and management experience
Strong negotiation skill
Identify and address capability gaps and opportunities within assigned product(s)
Document business requirements to facilitate product fixes or enhancements
Function as the primary capabilities contact for assigned product/capability(s) with the technology organization
Participate in meetings with the technology organization to ensure that defined solution will meet the business goal
Participate in meetings as needed to serve as a subject matter expert on products, process and/or services within the scope of responsibilities
Assist with testing of product releases/enhancements as needed
Translate Product Manager requests, high-level value propositions, or highly customized service designs into standard, repeatable offerings
Partner with technology lead to ensure requirements meet business expectations
Build strong working relationships across Optum functional teams to assist in the successful design and launch of new offerings
Demonstrate strong documentation and project leadership skills to successfully support the launch new/enhanced product and service offerings
Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
Works with less structured, more complex issues
Serves as a resource to others.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of substituted experience

4+ years of IT Project Management experience

4+ years of working with all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle

4+ years of data gathering/analysis and writing system requirements

Experience working with test plans and test cases

Experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions
