Senior Project Manager at Minneapolis

Job Description

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 1-1/2 year contract position with a major utility supplier of electric power and natural gas in Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO.

Summary:

Local client is seeking a seasoned PM that will be accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of a $3M+ SharePoint 2013 upgrade, along with the purchasing, installation and integration of the social collaboration tool-YAMMER. This position is for an IT project manager versed in multiple delivery methodologies and the PMBOK phases. PMI certification is desired and the ability to work in a structured is required. The project is in the SCOPING phase and will begin requirements and design in August 2013. The PM is responsible for managing a cross-functional team, mitigating issues and risks, managing a project schedule, maintaining monthly project financials and providing timely, effective and succinct communications. The PM must be versed in identifying and working with stakeholders at different levels of the organization, be an effective negotiator and skilled at conflict resolution. The PM must be able to build relationships across the enterprise and deliver incremental Business benefit through a phased delivery approach.

Responsibilities:

• Manages scope per agreed upon requirements and design.
• Controls project execution.
• Sub-teams and provides overall, end-to-end project leadership.
• Manages, prepares and produces project management reports, timelines, budgets, and documentation.
• Create and manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting and actuals tracking.
• Identifies risks and issues and provides effective mitigation.
• Monitors project activities and resolves/escalates issues as needed.
• Follows formal change control procedures for any items impacting Scope, Schedule or Cost.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience implementing SharePoint 2010 or later.
• Previous experience and knowledge with conversion from SharePoint 2003, 2007 and 2010
• Previous experience with large scale web implementations (web content management systems)
• Understanding of the SP related applications - InfoPath, Nintex, Fast, ControlPoint are key
• Understanding of implementing enterprise social and document collaboration tools (Yammer, Jive, NewsGator, Connections are examples of applications in this space)
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with management of a $3M project budget or greater.
• Proven experience managing to scope, schedule and cost.
• Ability to provide thought leadership and develop clear objectives from general goals.
• Proven experience managing software implementation projects following a prescribed methodology working within a formal environment.
• Proven Vendor management experience aggressively driving Vendors to meet date and budget commitments.
• Experience in managing project budget forecasts and actuals via accrual-based accounting.
• Ability to manage a diverse set of stakeholders and work through the challenges of competing and sometime conflict priorities.
• Effective, succinct and timely project communications
