A professional career opportunity as a Financial Aid Packaging Specialist exists for an individual at our Corporate office.
Summary:
Provides financial aid services and coordinates access to financial resources to all current and prospective students through their Financial Counselor. Advises each Financial Counselors with the completion of the financial aid packaging process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Receives enrollments from the admissions office and provides the material needed to the Financial Counselor to package those students. Establishes a professional environment that facilitates the appropriate sharing of confidential financial information and supports the admissions process. Collects the proper documentation to manage the completion of each student’s financial aid packaging.
- Reviews and evaluates financial aid applications and determines each financial aid package is in accordance with federal and institution regulations prior to all financial aid request and/or draw-downs.
- Responsible for verifying each prospective student’s ISIR
- Process verification on a students ISIR when required
- Process Professional Judgments for a students eligibility when requested
- Makes sure each student file is being worked appropriately and adhering to the 30 day rule that is given to each new student to get any missing financial aid paperwork turned in.
- Track weekly packaging and AR to ensure students accounts remain balanced
- Responsible for making sure each student file is packaged before it is given to the Financial Aid Processor to request funds.
- Coordinates resolution of financial aid problems with students.
- Completes transfer credit worksheets to prorate financial aid when needed.
- Monitors day-to-day financial aid job functions and package completeness of all files.
- Assist with the recruitment and training process of new Financial Counselors
- Compile data and generate reports to local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Consistently be aware of new financial aid policies and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Requirements:
- Three or more years of financial aid work experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university is desired; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Self-directing, self-starting
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Fast learner
- Compliance Driven
