SUMMARY Support Production, Engineering, and Rapid Prototype transitioning product/process through pre-production into production launch. Provides ongoing production support optimizing tooling and processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.Works with Engineering on new product/process development including product documentation, and project planning.Produces prototypes for customer evaluation as well as engineering samples.Supports production and makes controlled changes to the equipment as needed.Works with manufacturing engineering and/or tool room to develop new tooling and improve current tooling. Creates and maintains a location for tooling and ensures it is documented on the BOM.Ensures that all setup data is captured and recorded during the Development/Pre-production and Standard production phases of a product.Helps maintain and keep clean all manufacturing tool cribs.Acts as the first point of contact for production to help with technical support, trouble-shooting, problem solving and repair activities for production equipment (i.e., arbor winders, EDM, lasers).Acts as technical leader in areas of expertise and uses knowledge to assist others when needed across departments and is cross trained in all departments.. Provides set-up support as needed. Assists training operators and assemblers on new and revised processes; cross training programs as well. Assists with equipment building. Identifies and implement productivity and quality improvements.Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Advisor or the company. Follows set training program for position and ensures training requirements are up to date. Uses training tracking software to ensure training is documented in timely manner. Demonstrates safe work habits, maintain clean and safe work area.Works with a positive attitude and acts within the principles of the Core Values. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Core QualificationsEducation and/or Experience: High School Diploma, 2-year degree or related vocational education a plus. 1 - 3 years HMC Set-Up Operator experience or 3-5 years equivalent industry experience. Demonstrate understanding of manufacturing processes and principles, design intent, customer end use, and impact of critical dimensions on product performance. Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills (lathe, mill, surface grinder and general shop tools), SPC, intermediate computer aptitude. Must be proficient in reading and writing English; Technical writing documentation ability required. Will demonstrate an understanding of the medical industry and how our products apply for importance to achieve specific tolerances. Is adaptive to change and will support a variety of work assignments to support a multi-task production schedule.PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to perform lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, sitting and standing throughout the day.
