Production Technician (entry level) at Minneapolis

Job Description

Production Technician (Entry Level)Purpose of Position
The Production Technician (entry level) position reports to the GDP Project Manager.  Primary duties include:  scanning various source materials:  books; newspapers; maps; journals and microfilm; documenting (via PC) quality control/assurance procedures; processing images using OCR software and communicating (verbal and/or written) with various internal/external customers, vendors, etc.
 
Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of OCR Software, scanning equipment and products desired
  • Produce digitally scanned images from multiple sources
  • Post processing and quality check of scanned images, ensuring clear and legible images
  • Process images using OCR Software
  • Communicate (verbal and/or written) with vendors and customers on file process, timeline, corrections, etc.
  • Perform quality control/assurance procedures, and document (if applicable)
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager

Job Requirements

Production Technician (Entry Level)Skills/abilities:
  • Operate scanning equipment, PC (software:  Word, Excel, and Outlook), and other general office equipment
  • Basic word processing and/or data entry skills
  • Ability to proof documents, with attention to detail, to ensure accuracy
  • Organize and prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn and grow, with a strong work ethic, commitment to performing job functions at a high level
  • Flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently or within a team
  • Work location and schedule:  Minnetonka, MN; Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with possible overtime depending on workload
 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED and 1 year related work experience; and/or Associate degree
  • Computer software knowledge and skills; with the ability to work within a structured work environment
  • Command of the English Language (both verbal and written); second language (e.g., Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Persian, etc.) a plus
  • Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) - Eligibility to work in the United States
