Payroll Specialist

Smart-Fill Employer Resources, Inc. is a professional employer organization (PEO) based in Rochester, MN.  Smart-HR combines people power, integrated systems and robust technology to solve our customers problems in human resources, workers’ compensation, risk management, employee benefits and payroll administration.  We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team.  This candidate will prepare and process multi-state payrolls for multiple client organizations.

The ideal candidate provides exceptional client service, garnishment and levy processing, issues W-2s and conducts W-2 audits, completes subpoena and wage verification requests, has knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment laws for multiple states, manages Time and Attendance system, tracks vacation and sick leave balances and assists with monthly benefit billing and reconciliations.  

Job Requirements

• The ideal candidate possesses a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality and the ability to balance multiple priorities. 
• Candidate must be self-motivated with a high level of interpersonal skills, problem/issue management and analytical skills, and has a desire to work in a fast paced organization. 
• Required education/experience: FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) and CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
• Strong multi state payroll experience required 
• Minimum of 5+ years payroll experience 
• Experience with Darwin or comparable PEO payroll system.
