We are currently hiringa Remote Coding Operations Managerforfull-time employment.
JOB FUNCTION:
Reporting directly to the Director, Coding Operations, the Coding Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, productivity, quality, ICD-10 education completion, employee management and development, and clients within a specific client group or geography of clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Billable Coding Function 80%
- Training and Development of professional auditing staff 15%
- Ensures direct reports maintain established customer service standards.
- Maintains all coding consultants at 100% productivity level.
- Assists in the development of site specific baseline productivity standards utilizing Overlook reports to manage coder productivity.
- Provide feedback and mentoring as needed to achieve productivity standards.
- Maintains Quality Standards of 95% or better within the assigned specific client group/geographic area.
- Uses Overlook to monitor quality, provide constructive feedback to employees regarding quality issues as needed and assist Director of Operations with developing a performance improvement plan for underperforming employees to achieve company quality standards.
- Responsible for the implementation, compliance and tracking of ICD-10 internal training to internal coding staff.
- Keeps the Director, Coding Operations informed if any coder is not complying or underperforming during established training milestones.
- Assists site supervisors with questions they might have about a client and their facility specific guidelines.
- Oversees and monitors customer facility operations.
- Works with Site Supervisors and staff to achieve desired results on tasks performed and accuracy.
- Drives quality assurance and performance improvement as needed.
- Attends meetings with Director, Operations as requested.
- Manages Site Supervisors and coding staff within client group/geographical area.
- Performs scheduled billable activities as assigned according to schedule.
- Client Management 5%
- Maintains customer retention and satisfaction.
- Is responsive to customer needs, anticipates problems and takes action to resolve them before they develop into significant customer issues/dissatisfaction.
- Keeps the Director, Coding Operations informed of customer issues.
- Responds to customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Escalates customer issues/concerns/problems in a pro-active and timely manner to the Director, Coding Operations to resolve client issues.
- Reacts to Site Supervisor daily status reports.
- Informs Director, Coding Operations of new business opportunities with existing customers and provides input that will assist sales and others as appropriate to pursue and close such opportunities.
- Collaborates with Director, Coding Operations and/or Vice President, Clinical Operations as needed.
- Coordinates new account start up in conjunction with Director, Coding Operations.
ADDITIONAL JOB COMPONENTS
- Reports to work as scheduled.
- Complies with all IOD Policies, specifically, attendance and punctuality.
- Typically, works remotely accessing work related projects and tasks via VPN access.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
IOD Remote Coding Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelor degree from an AHIMA certified HIM Program or Nursing Program.
- At least 5 years management or supervisory experience in a hospital setting
- CCS withat least 5 years of coding experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Previous medical record experience required.
- Excellent client and customer relations skills required.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) preferred.
- Must be ambitious, accountable, flexible and mature and must conduct themselves professionally at all times.
- Must communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside of the organization and express ideas and information clearly and concisely, in both verbal and written form
