Positions in this function includes those responsible for initial triage of members, administrative intake of members or managing the admission/discharge information post-notification, working with hospitals and the clinical team. Includes managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from providers/members, providing information on available network services and transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff. Manages the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations. This function includes intake, notification and census roles.
Primary Responsibilities:
Answer and respond to incoming calls from members and providers
Utilizes multiple systems to attempt to resolve the issue on the call
Routes those issues unable to resolve to the appropriate team for resolution
Respond to customers in a polite and courteous manner, projecting patience, empathy, caring, and sincerity in voice tone and words
Establish rapport over the phone quickly, and remain positive and upbeat
Outstanding attendance record is critical, punctual adherence to scheduled work start times, breaks and lunches
Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
Utilize any down time for completing administrative tasks
Demonstrate strong data entry skills and proficiency use of a PC

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
Basic Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Assets:
Professional experience in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform the job duties
Professional experience in clerical or administrator work
Experience with Healthcare or insurance benefits, Medical Terminology/Coding (ICD-9 and CPT), Call Center experience, Hospital, physician, or medical clinical, Medicare and/or Medicaid
