Valet Attendant at Shakopee

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to greet and assist customers, park their vehicle, and be a visible representative of Canterbury Park.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet arriving and departing guests. Opens passenger door(s) and offer assistance, if appropriate.
Park guest vehicles in specified areas in a safe and efficient manner ensuring all vehicles are secure when parking them.
Accurately charge fees, count change, scan MVP cards for discounts and complete various department logs for tracking payment types. Also keep accurate count of complimentary parking passes.
Manage the sales of programs, forms and gift shop merchandise daily to patrons and complete various department logs for tracking payment types.
Scrape customer windows and remove all snow from cars in the winter.
Manage coat check.
Assist customers by calling a taxi/shuttle service as requested.
Organize and keep accurate inventory of all valet keys.
Responsible for keeping the valet entrance clean and clear sidewalks when needed.(i.e. shovel and salt in the winter)
Control valet lot to keep people out of it to ensure security of vehicles.
Complete incident reports if a vehicle is damaged or if the conditions require attention and or repair.
All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

High School Diploma/GED.
Ability to drive a manual transmission required.
Must have a good driving record, valid drivers license, general automobile knowledge required.
Must be 18 years of age and must have held a valid drivers license for a minimum of one year.
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated as well as working harmoniously with co-workers and work as part of a team.
Capable of running, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to attain MRC licenses.
If selected, you must pass Drug Screening, Background check and Canterbury Park Safe Driving Plan.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous customer services experience preferred.
