Master Scheduler at Minneapolis

Job Description

Position Purpose: The Master Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring products through the complete production cycle. The position will perform the responsibilities detailed below and other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Is the key Operations liaison to Sales, Finance and Supply Chain regarding the implementation and execution of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan.
  • In collaboration with Production Planning and Manufacturing, evaluates, plans and prioritizes long-term and short-term production capabilities to meet business objectives
  • Highlights significant issues of delayed customer shipments, production problems, inventory shortages and current status to management
  • Coordinates solutions to operational constraints to ensure on-time delivery of product.
  • Utilizes forecasting techniques and experiences to manage manufacturing contracts with key customers on high volume products
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and report findings to management. Updates the Product Lead Time status as required.
  • Maintain surveillance over inventory for asset management purposes as well as maintain sufficient inventory to satisfy company production and sales effort
  • Function as resource to and influence Sales, Finance and Operations departments as it relates to macro level schedules and large sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for the accurate entry and maintenance of Master Schedules into the Oracle ERP system.
  • Coordinates New Product Introduction and legacy product End of Life, optimizing customer satisfaction and inventory obsolescence costs.
  • Influences Bill of Material design for new products so as to ensure optimal forecasting, ordering and scheduling.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience master planning/production control/supply chain management experience
  • Experience working with the basic inputs and outputs of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process
  • Understands Bill of Material Design and is capable of working cross-functionally to optimize BOM design in support of sales forecasting, customer ordering, factory scheduling and MRP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience utilizing major ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS certification
