Project Engineer

Sanimax is looking for a Project Engineer specializing in Mechanical Processes for its plant in South St Paul, MN. The candidate will be based in South St Paul, but will also be required to work on major projects at Sanimax sites in Deforest, WI and Green Bay, WI. This is a full time role, with competitive pay and benefits plan.
Job Summary
The Project Engineer will work with the Project Manager and will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team in addition to the operating and plant maintenance groups. You (or he/she) will be responsible for the design and selection of mechanical equipment for the various manufacturing processes used in Sanimax plants. In addition, you will work with your American and Canadian colleagues to define corporate standards in mechanics, guided by the highest standards in the industry. You will manage projects and consultant, as necessary, to support the goal of process improvement.
The successful candidate must be resourceful, self-motivated and ready to evolve within his/her role in an organization that is continually growing. We are seeking a person who is involved and engaged in his/her work, growing with the Sanimax team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the mechanical design of processes for new projects.
Act as the main reference for the Engineering and Operations teams on matters relating to mechanical process engineering
Work with US and Canadian teams to develop a guide for the mechanical design standards and tools related to the selection of process equipment.
Collaborate with current Sanimax process experts to acquire in- depth knowledge relating to operation processes.
Manage capital investment projects and participate in the development of future capital projects in an effort to improve process efficiency, and provide increased return on investment for the organization.
Provide leadership in implementing best practices in project management, focusing on quality,health and safety as it relates to these projects
Participate in leadership development initiatives, as needed.
Travel may be required periodically to other Sanimax facilities - less than 10% of total time.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree (BS) in mechanical engineering. (Other related degrees will be considered if experience is relevant)
A minimum of 3-5 years experience in mechanical design of processes and/or equipment
Bilingualism (French/English) is a plus, but not required.
Experience in the field of liquid and solid processes.
Strong interest and curiosity to learn about our manufacturingprocess.
Ability to work with CAD plans and P & ID; 3D modeling experience beneficial, but not required.
Mustperform hands-on work with staff and employees in the facilities to build understanding of manufacturing process.
Strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate in a team environment, focuson quality of work and customer service.
Autonomous and rigorouspersonalitywith a commitment to continuous improvement.
