The ideal candidate is a detail oriented, creative problem solver with critical thinking skills who will be an enthusiastic team player. The person in this position will be expected to work under minimal supervision and provide high-quality software deliverables.

• Write Java code to deliver new content. This includes interacting with our SQL Server database and writing unit tests for all new software and modifications to existing software as appropriate. (80%)
• Gather requirements directly from our internal automotive experts and from business analysts. (5%)
• Help design new systems and components that meet the specified requirements, including participating in design reviews. This includes all facets of design, including component-level design, system design, and database design. (5%)
• Provide informative status updates during daily standup meetings to keep your colleagues apprised of progress and impediments related to your assigned development tasks. (5%)
• Conduct code reviews. (5%)

Job Requirements

• 3+ years industry experience
• 2+ years experience with Java
• 2 + years of core Java experience
• 1+ year experience with relational databases
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies is a plus
• Experience with the majority of the following technologies:
• Rally or similar Agile management tool
• Git or similar source code management system
• Familiarity with HTTP protocol
• HTML
• XML, DOM, XSL, XPath
• JUnit
• ANT & CruiseControl
• Eclipse
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
