Sustaining Test Engineer provides support for test processes on the production floor and product startups.

Essential Functions of the position.
  • Understands and uses University level technical writing, mathematical and statistical tools for equipment justifications, design of experiments and general engineering problem solving.
  • Understands electrical design principles.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and able to work individually or in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Supports a 24/7 global business operations as required.
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company.
  • Able to travel including day, overnight and international travel as required.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications

Coordinates the installation of production test equipment Coordinates the installation of hardware and software updates as required. Performs testing for test equipment protocols. Performs and coordinates training for test equipment and processes as required. Aids in the disposition of test capital equipment as required. Helps develop continuous improvement plans for test and assists in continuous improvement implementation. Stays abreast of test equipment advancements for the electronic manufacturing industry. Maintain contact with electrical test equipment suppliers for hardware and software updates. Works with the product and processes groups as required to reduce manufacturing defects. Demonstrates the ability to solve and document moderately complex cross departmental issues using structured problem solving tools. Proposes ideas for custom tooling for overall test process and equipment improvement. Participates in transition teams for product moves between BEI sites as required.

Experience

For the sustaining Test Engineer I
New Electrical Engineering Graduates Welcome. Or 1 to 3 years as an Engineer.

For the Sustaining Test Engineer II
Electrical Engineering degree and 5+ years in SMT and PCBA manufacturing.

Education Requirements
4 year Electrical Engineering or technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.
