Job Requirements
Position Summary:Responsible for continuously improving production systems to ensure that product conforms to specifications while operating in the most cost-effective manner without compromising customer expectation, quality or operator safety. Provide quality engineering support with existing products and processes, new product and process development, as well as non-production areas. Provide support to maintain Horton’s Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Drives quality improvement in the manufacturing plants, the supply base and in the non-production areas.
- Effectively utilize data, lean principles, and problem solving methodologies to solve problems and prevent recurrence.
- Self-starter who is able to work both independently and together in teams while improving quality and reducing costs.
- Provides support to Horton’s Environmental and Quality Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949).
- Must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of the company.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of Design and Process FMEA’s.
- Initiates corrective actions (ie. 8D’s) to determine root cause for customer complaints, internal and external audit findings and internal and external product failures/defects.
- Maintains internal audit system and conducts internal audits.
- Maintains control plans, process FMEA’s, and process flows.
- Assists with the development of PPAP documentation for customers and review of supplier PPAP’s.
- Assists in designing or purchasing measuring equipment to meet product specifications relative to quality.
- Provides work direction to assembly and manufacturing personnel.
- Able to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally (ie. customer/supplier visits)

Employment Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrate an expertise in problem solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and solve manufacturing or supplier related technical and / or systemic issues.
- Possess the ability to be self-directed.
- Able to build effective teams and the ability to work with suppliers, plant
manufacturing, and purchasing to ensure the deliverables are met. - Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, thermal spray, paint and assembly.
- Experience with automotive components and functional requirements.
- BS Engineering with a minimum of 3 years related experience in a manufacturing and/or quality role or equivalent experience.
Note: Equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1
year of education.
Must be able to show legal authorization to work in the United States. No Visa

has all of the necessary qualifications.
