Position DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to assist in creating and maintaining policies, tools, guidance, and training for the Firms audit and attest practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance of the firms audit and attest manuals.
- Develop deep expertise in one or two assigned areas of subject matter expertise (e.g. audit reporting, auditing accounting estimates, fraud procedures, attest engagements).
- Assist in the creation of tools and guidance for the assurance practice that promote both quality and efficiency initiatives
- Work with industry teams (e.g. financial institutions, financial services, employee benefits) within NPSG to develop industry-specific policies, tools, and guidance
- Integrate new professional standards and firm policies, and efficiency initiatives into industry specific versions in cost effective manner
- Liaison with ASMG and specialized industry task forces
- Work closely with NPSG administrative support functions who support these processes
- Assist in the development of training (e.g. drafting of conceptual design, learning objectives, course materials, case studies) and practice aides by serving as content author, course owner and/or technical reviewer
- Facilitate national office sponsored training events (e.g., web conferences and seminars)
- Assist in thought leadership initiatives such as initial research, drafting various deliverables (e.g. knowledge articles, intranet content)
- Other NPSG projects
- Individual will support a number of ad-hoc initiatives on a non-recurring basis from year-to-year
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA license
- Audit manager
- High performance
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- High achiever and desire for excellence
- Thirst for knowledge and passion for sharing new ideas with others
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Team player
- Willing to relocate to Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Requirements
- Working knowledge of the firms audit methodology
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of the technology tools required within assigned responsibilities including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work productively without direct oversight
Travel
- Some travel for delivery of CPE and other firm meetings
Relocation
- A relocation would be available for a move to Minneapolis
- Eligible candidates agreeable to high percentage of travel will be conisdered
