Optum Payer Market is seeking General Manager for the Clinical Performance and Compliance Organization.The General Manager - CPC opportunity will report to the Vice President of Clinical Performance and Compliance and is a key member of the Executive Team. This Chief of Staff serves as the trusted voice and advisor to help the Vice President determine, articulate and execute business vision, mission, strategies, and tactics across operations with [121 employees and 254 contractors.] Acts as a liaison for matters of importance and assumes responsibility for responding to requests and filtering, leading, and executing special projects as directed by the Vice President.Key Responsibilities:Internal Project Management/Administrative:-Attends all key internal and external customer meetings as assigned. Interprets critical information, documents, investigates and thoroughly answers critical questions, ensures timely follow up of all action items.-Anticipates, manages preparation for, and, when appropriate facilitates meetings and events on behalf of the Vice President.-Facilitates project management and adherence to deadlines.Organizational Support/Compliance:-Develops consistency with regard to presentations, reports, external correspondence, staff meetings, and scorecards. Assists in ensuring meeting agendas represent the key initiatives and the overall priorities of the business. Coaches leadership team to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency in processes.-Responsible for assessment and implementation of process improvement initiatives -Responsible for maintenance and implementation of appropriate controls and metrics and reporting relating to these controls and metrics.Alignment with matrix partners:-Assists leadership alignment with business partners across UHG functional areas (Optum, UCS, UnitedHealth Networks, Benefit Operations) and functional areas, thereby ensuring internal and external coordination and a unified approach to our customersExternal Positioning:-Serves as the gateway for the Vice President for ensuring communications and activities for all constituents and customers have consistent overall messages.-Reviews and provides insight to customer requestsAnalysis:-Conducts data analysis designed to support strategies-Identifies and executes on research needsPlanning:-Supports development of business plan strategy in conjunction with the Finance team, providing insight and recommendations and ensuring alignment-Tracks progress against plan, identifies any deviations and suggests plans to remediate; provides reports and analysis as required.-Participates in strategic planning for P&L owners and assists in developing specific plans as neededCritical Success Factors:Driver can do attitude-Works with a sense of urgency, and also engages and listens to all experts-Relies on experts while questioning recommendations and ensuring appropriate process and checkpoints/controls are in place ahead of defining solutions-Motivated by results and making thoughtful recommendations-High conceptual thinking, with the ability to drill to issue resolution-Enables collaboration, while knowing when to move to end analysis and recommend decisions-Can coin technical issues and solutions in business terms-Ability to question experts and drive to the truth-Ability to create and deliver executive materials for decision making-Motivated by defining end to end solutions-Demonstrates thoughtful communication -Deep understanding of designing and implementing solutions with appropriate controls-Understands the necessity of operating within a compliant business modelJob Requirements
Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.BA/BS , advanced degree preferred-10+ years overall Operations, Program Management, business analysis, and technical experience in a large Healthcare enterprise environment-10+ years operations reporting and forecasting experience-Strong communicator; capable of effectively presenting ideas and selling concepts and tactics; excellent writer, proven ability to communicate effectively with executive-levels-Strong analytical skills; has hands-on experience; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and draw conclusions-Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals-Ability to quickly understand needs and act on those needs; ability to conceptualize and effectuate change management and out-of-the-box thinking.Desired Qualifications/Prior Experience:Risk Adjustment-Vendor management-Results-oriented individual with strong influencing, problem solving/negotiation skills (Six Sigma at the MBB level)-Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment-Proficiency in computer software such as Project, Power Point, and ExcelOptumInsight is part of the family of companies that make UnitedHealth Group one of the leaders across most major segments of the US health care system.OptumInsight is one of the largest and fastest growing health information companies.
