Facility Manager II - St. Joseph's Area Health Services (Park Rapids, MN) at Park Rapids

Job Description

This position is responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling the strategic and daily activities of the Facility Management Group at two or more hospitals for a single MBO, related clinics and other facilities. Responsibility may include; Plant Operations, Housekeeping, Security, Environmental Safety, Construction and other duties as assigned. The purpose of this position is to provide a quality, cost effective program that meets or exceeds the quality and financial expectations of the customer and CHIs National Facility and Clinical Engineering Programs. This position is responsible for providing the customer with an aggressive program that lowers their annual maintenance cost, increases equipment life cycles, and above all, provides the highest level of customer service.

1. Oversees operations of the Facility Management Group by: conducting quarterly department head visits and meetings; ensuring that reports are delivered in a timely manner; providing a working environment that meets all OSHA guidelines; and completing and maintaining all performance indicators at or above program targets. 2. Develops manages and monitors budgets, verifies and assures appropriate use of staff, materials, supplies and vendors. Insures that current records of all maintenance procedures are kept as required to meet all applicable codes and standards. Implements record keeping, cost effective measures, inventory control and standards of performance and productivity for self and staff to use time effectively and meet program requirements. 3. Ensures financial performance of areas managed by: attaining all expense budgets and cost containment targets; ensuring that expenditure authority and level are adhered to; and forwarding, in a timely manner, all appropriate POs, invoices and financial details to the appropriate sources.4. Manages and oversees the recruitment, training and development of staff. This includes holding all necessary staff meetings; providing written measurable objectives; coordinating vacation, sick days etc.; and performing mid-year and annual performance evaluations.5. Ensures smooth communications and reporting. This includes conducting all necessary meetings with facility administration, and forwarding all positive and negative customer/vendor communications to Assistant Director of Facilities (CHI), for review. Provides monthly reports to Director of Facilities (CHI), as requested. Provides reports as requested to hospital leadership.6. Participates in the completion of the annual PQE.7. Conducts customer satisfaction surveys at least annually.8. Maintains positive working relationships with senior hospital administration.9. Provides professional team and personal growth that meets the needs of the customer and employees.10. Networks with peers to gain innovative ideas and sourcing of information.11. Seeks involvement in quality and/or other initiatives within the department

12. Actively participates in construction related activities including a primary role in the development and implementation of the Master Facility Plan, as required.

Job Requirements

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree required with preferred emphasis on Business, Architecture, Engineering and/or Construction . Certification required (CHFM). Experience: At least five years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum of three years of experience in hospital maintenance/medical equipment operations and management. Must demonstrate financial and operational management skills. Blue print reading, building codes, N.F.P.A.,.O.S.H.A., Joint Commission EOC requirements, policy and procedure development and implementation. Five years in healthcare management, construction management, plant operations, or medical equipment management. Progressive management experience (may have served in lead position or acted in absence of management.) Effective written and verbal communication skills.
