CHS Oilseed Processing has an exciting opportunity in our Engineering Group. We are looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have strong analytical / problem solving skills able to work in a team environment and independently.
You will:
- Effectively manage small to medium scale improvements projects and monitor the progress of projects to ensure timely completion within the budgeted limits.
- Conduct assigned development, design and construct projects by preparing engineering calculations, drawings, material lists, construction schedules, and operating instructions with emphasis on achieving optimum processing efficiency, reducing energy and material costs, and adhering to safety requirements.
- Plan, provide and implement electrical engineering technology and supervision on all assigned plant electrical projects and problems.
- Design, test, and direct installation of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in processing or power generation or transmission for industrial systems.
- Provide or assist with overall project management and supervision to plant electricians and construction crews, and organize each step of the construction process
- Coordinate projects with electrical utility companies, consultants and contractors based on project needs
- Coordinate the communication for projects involving department managers, outside utilities, outside consulting agencies to keep everyone informed of project schedule, goals, objectives, and necessary equipment and manpower
- Maintain or Develop Arc Flash NFPA 70E Programs at existing facilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures and regulations, identify and communicate workplace hazards, correct unsafe actions or conditions.
- Mentor staff engineers with emphasis on furthering department growth and development
- Up to 50% travel to other sites, including international, for evaluation and project execution will be required
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10 plus years facility electrical engineering experience in an industrial or food commodity processing environment to include:
- Experience with plant construction and large sized projects in excess of $10 million.
- Experience working with construction and consulting organizations
- Design and Specify Plant Low, Medium and High Voltage Power Systems, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, PLC Panels, Switches
- Design experience with Allen-Bradley motor control center equipment
- Experience with contracts, budgets, and regulatory compliance for electrical systems
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of MN, IA, NE or KS or ability to obtain in 3 months
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Previous experience in management of technical electrical engineering staff
