Job Description

Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska that produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, that produces anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.

Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC has an immediate need for a self-driven, knowledgeable and hands on I&E Technician to work in our anhydrous ammonia terminal located in Murdock, MN consisting of receipt ammonia rail unloading, ammonia refrigeration and storage, ammonia heating, and truck loading/unloading. The successful candidate will perform management duties to assist the terminal leader in all aspects of compliance.

Requirements

• Ability to understand procedures as well as safety & environmental risks associated with handling, shipping and storing anhydrous ammonia
• Experience or training in the installation, maintenance, operations and troubleshooting of electronic control and control systems
• Mechanical aptitude or background
• Must have good documentation and organizational skills
• Demonstrated abilities to develop people as a team through sharing knowledge and experience
• Ability to effectively communicate to managers, customers and peers
• High School diploma or G.E.D.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to climb stairs, pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator, full Level A PPE, and lift up to 35 pounds
• Willing to work extended hours as required
• Willing to be on a rotating 24 hour on-call schedule nights and weekends
• Must live within 30 minutes of the Murdock terminal

Preferred

• Instrumentation controls/electrical technician background
• Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited institution
• 2+ years experience in ammonia terminal or equivalent
