Job Description

The main focus of this position is to insert lenses into the zyl, rimless groove and metal frames while ensuring proper fit and inspect lenses and frames to ensure that they are optically and cosmetically accurate. Duties in this position are usually repetitive, requiring analysis and use of individual judgment.
Specific duties:
-Insert and secure lenses into the frame.
-Perform cosmetic inspection of the lenses and frame.
-Use the lensometer to check for power, prism, axis, frame alignment, PDs, seg height and lens fit.
-Read the work ticket to verify prescription instructions such as tints, UV, coatings, and progressive adds.
-Wash and wipe lenses as needed. Inspect frames for scratches or defects.
-Check alignment of frame, lenses, and temples. Dot the lens marking to check for lens alignment.
-Bag lenses or insert framed work into cases. Put all necessary enclosures in envelope or pouch.
