RPG Developer at Saint Paul

Job Description

This position is located at our corporate headquarters in historic downtown St. Paul. Green Tree offers a generous transportation subsidy toward either a parking contract or a Metropass.Our compensation includes a base salary plus an annual discretionary bonus program. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION The candidate will be supporting the Green Tree Collections, Customer Service , & Client Management back end systems which run on the IBM iSeries and interface with a .Net front end. The candidate must be a self starter, highly motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. The candidate must be able to pick things up quickly, analize system issues, and modify legacy applications without a great deal of assistance or formal documentation. Flexibility and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment is a must. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES The candidate will be functioning as an application developer and a technical resource. A combination of application design & development, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and end user support functions will be performed. After hours on-call support will also be required. The applicant will be required to work with business analysts and directly with business associates to define requirements and resolve issues therefore excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Additional requirements include:
  • A minimum of 5 yrs. application development experience on an IBM AS/400 or iSERIES.
  • A high degree of experience utilizing RPG IV, ILE, CL, and SQL development tools.
  • Strong experience designing and utilizing IBM UDB DB2/400 databases including the development of triggers and stored procedures.
  • In addition to new application development experience must have experience in an application maintenance and support role.
  • Experience working independently, as part of a team, and as a lead for small to medium sized projects including responsibilities for:
  • The development of Business Requirements, Technical Design Specifications, and Test Plans.
  • Development of detailed Project Plans and Estimates.
  • Providing work direction for 2-5 programmers.

DESIRABLEBUTNOTREQUIRED

  • Experience with Robot, Abstract, FTP, & Silvon Implementor
  • Experience with, or exposure to .Net development is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in the areas of Finance, Consumer Lending, and Collections is highly desirable.
