Lead Sports Producer - KARE at Minneapolis

Job Description

KARE 11, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul, is looking for a full-time, creative, enterprising lead sports producer to join our team. In addition to the expected skills of excellent visual content presentation, writing, researching and source development, the successful candidate will be a team leader, organizing/scheduling daily and in-depth coverage plans for the sports department.

Were looking for someone who can take sports news to the next level and engage the audience in the conversation. We prefer a candidate with the vision and management skills to maximize resources, look beyond the status quo and commit to developing/delivering superior, compelling content and special programming on various platforms for our audience: TV, online, mobile, social media, etc.

Skills must include an understanding of various video transmission technology including but not limited to ENG/SNG, ftp, mobile phone, cell and livestream feeds, etc. Social media engagement required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. On camera reporting, shooting and editing are all a plus.

Additional Requirements:

* Minimum 2-5 years journalism experience required, sports journalism preferred.

* Journalist and/or Mass Communication degree preferred.

* Current drivers license and excellent driving history required.
