Propane Equipment Sales Representative at Inver Grove Heights

Responsibilities

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Propane Equipment department for a Sales Representative at our corporate offices in Inver Grove Heights, MN. You must be detail oriented, have strong analytical, collaborative & negotiating skills with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You must be able to problem solve with creative solutions, work with limited direct supervision, be self-motivated, strategic and a team player. To be successful you must have the ability to build strong relationships and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

You will:
  • Create, develop and execute innovative sales & marketing strategies that capture maximum value
  • Increase propane equipment sales and margins by prospecting new customers and communicating sales promotions.
  • Facilitate positive long-term relationships and high potential for repeat business with customers.
  • Provide technical leadership, support and assistance on all propane equipment lines to meet and exceed customers’ needs.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers, vendors and internal staff.
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain terms, pricing and programs with established and potential vendors.
  • Develop and manage department communications through special mailings, newsletters, buyer’s guides and electronic communications.
  • Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful transactions.
  • Process department orders, verify accuracy and approve invoices.
  • Develop department budget for approval by supervisor.
  • Prepare and report monthly progress to management & maintain data for department scorecard.
  • Promote all energy programs of CHS and the Cenex® brand.
  • Attend trade shows and vendor meetings.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree plus a minimum of 5 years sales experience OR Associates degree plus a minimum of 9years sales experience OR High School diploma plus a minimum of13years sales experience to include;
    • 2+ year’s propane industry experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to learn the refined fuels software systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous equipment or cooperative sales experience.
  • Financial analysis & planning experience.
  • Mechanical understanding of propane bulk plants, bobtails and propane equipment.
  • Retail propane experience.
