Director, Compensation IT
The Business Segment Compensation Director will lead all compensation related strategies and activities in support of segments business strategies including:
Provide a full spectrum of consulting and analytical compensation services by translating business strategic direction into meaningful compensation plans.
Apply best practice compensation principles to provide customized compensation solutions designed to support business, team and leadership strategies.
Complete needs analysis, problem identification, and recommendations, influencing decision-making at all levels within the organization.
Partner with executive leaders and the UHG IT human capital team to develop appropriate compensation strategies, policies, programs, and communications.
Represent the business segments in the design, development, and implementation of UnitedHealth Group shared services initiatives and conversely represent shared services in segment initiatives.
Participate directly on enterprise-wide compensation projects including policy and program development and automated solutions.
Manage and lead a team in the design and administration of sales incentives and total reward programs
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate their ability to partner with multiple constituents, manage in a matrix relationship environment, strengthen and deliver on our Compensation agenda, and drive positive change in a high performance setting.
Minimum qualifications would include
10 years of experience, with 3 or more years as a compensation manageror commensurate levelin a Fortune 500 setting.
Deep understanding of and practical experience in applied compensation principles, methods and tools including technical expertise in a multiple of the following: market analysis, compensation program design, development, and implementation, variable pay (including sales), salary planning/forecasting, acquisitions, and alternative reward design techniques.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Proven consulting skills from assessment through implementation.
Demonstrated ability to measure and evaluate effectiveness of compensation initiatives.
Strong history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility, influencing and partnering with business leaders and human capital peers across the organization.
Experience working in a human resources or business function with a strategic business partner and shared service delivery model strongly preferred.
Strong change management skills
BA/BS degree in Business or Human Resources related field. Masters degree preferred.
