This role involves leading a team of 6-7 technical project managers with strong healthcare industry knowledge to work in our CMS and government arena. The ideal candidate will lead direct and matrix PM teams as well as handle one or two large, complex multi-million dollar program in the technology and healthcare space. Motivating and leading teams (with full HR accountability) as well as large-scale IT Program directorship are the two key elements of this position. The Director will serve as a point of contact for any escalations from either the Government Sector clients or internal business partners.The ideal candidate will have Government sector healthcare experience with Medicaid and/or Medicare.The desired location will be based in Phoenix, AZ or in Minnetonka, MN.

Job Requirements

10+ years of IT Project/Program management experience with a strong track record of customer satisfaction. Meeting deadlines and coming in on or under budget are essential.8+ years of experience working hands-on with all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)5+ years leading direct teams of Project Managers. Must have experience leading a team of FTE resources of at least 5 or more staff.5+ years of experience communicating risk, issues, and project status to executive level management5+ years of Healthcare Industry experience desired in the Government sector space desired.Experience with Project Management tools including Planview and Microsoft Project high desired.Project Management Professional (PMP) CertificationbeneficialProficiency with Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)Extensive work experience working with cross-functional teamsCandidates must reside either in Phoenix, AZ or in Minnetonka, MNUnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
