Operations Manager - Training/Quality at Chanhassen

Job Description

DISH supports more than 150 DISH Network Service (DNS) offices that deliver DISH products and services to customers across the country. The DNS organization encompasses thousands of talented and dedicated employees who serve in roles including Technicians, Resource Planners, Analysts, Training and Quality Assurance Reps and Management to deliver the industrys best products and services.

Managers of Training and Quality plan, coordinate, and direct training and development programs for staff level employees by performing the following duties and responsibilities either personally or through subordinate supervisors. In addition, managers are accountable for ensuring staff employees are delivering quality workmanship and customer service results by producing properly trained management and staff employees. This position provides and exciting opportunity to independently manage a team with a complex skill set and is the beginning of a career path to multi-site senior level leadership opportunities. This position also builds strong team performance by collaborating and coaching in order to achieve company objectives and is responsible for evaluating and recommending improvements to ensure a high level of training, quality, employee engagement and overall customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities as follows:

  • Conducts needs analysis studies and partners with managers and supervisors to determine training needs
  • Formulates training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures or services
  • Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual education, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, course curriculum, computer-based training and/or satellite distance learning
  • Train assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, such as new employees orientation, on-the-job training, sales techniques, health and safety practices, leadership development, and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies
  • Maintains records and evaluates statistical reports to determine the performance of instructors and effectiveness of curriculum and the learning retention of trainees
  • Screens, tests, counsels, and recommends employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs

A successful Manager of Training and Quality will have the following:

  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university; and 5 years related experience, including 2 years of supervisory/management experience. Knowledge and/or experience base in advanced training methodologies, adult learning theory, and evaluation processes preferred
  • Flexibility, innovation and the ability to manage staff, responsibilities and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment
  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel as required and possess a valid personal credit card for reimbursement purposes is necessary
