Job Description
Seeking sales expertise with high purity or ultra pure water treatment equipment systems calling on commercial, institutional, and light industrial customers located in Wisconsin and Minnesota. As a Regional Sales Engineer you will lead all sales and business development activities required to grow service exchange deionization (SDI) and membrane filtration equipment systems (reverse osmosis, ultra filtration) to hospitals, laboratories, universities, hotels, light industrial, chemical blending facilities, commercial, and manufacturing customers within the target region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sales history and technical expertise with various boiler pre-treatment technologies that include, but are not limited to: softeners, de-alkalizers, reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), microfiltration (MF), multi-media filtration (MMF), ion exchange (IX), and/or electro-deionization (EDI). Prior capital equipment sales experience with one or more of these technologies is required.
Essential Job Functions include:
- Grow sales of new process water and boiler pre-treatment equipment systems to commercial and institutional customers from Madison, WI to Minneapolis, MN.
- Secure long-term equipment leasing agreements and service contracts when possible.
- Evaluate fresh water intake equipment, high/low pressure boilers, filtration systems, softeners, powerhouse steam generation, cooling water systems, and wastewater processes and unit operations for viable applications.
- Develop leads, prepare target account lists, and conduct sales calls at customers facilities.
- Perform basic water chemistry tests on-site to determine the best treatment or equipment solution to improve plant efficiencies, reduce water and energy consumption, and reduce total cost of operations.
- Develop short and long term sales goals for company products throughout your territory.
- Lead the development and delivery of commercial proposals and customer presentations.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Military experience welcome.
- Prefer Technical B.S. in Engineering or Science, but not required.
- 3-5 years of selling high purity water purification equipment such as service deionization, water softeners, reverse osmosis technology, UV systems, filters and on site services.
- Sales and/or Service experience in the Water Treatment or Engineering & Construction (E&C) industries.
- Prior experience with specialty chemicals, industrial boilers, cooling water loops, heat exchangers, and/or chillers is a plus.
- Mechanically inclined, hands-on problem solver.
- Consultative solutions-oriented selling approach.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Clear track record of high sales achievements.
- Entrepreneurial drive, customer-centered focus, and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to be a team player on all levels.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.
