Senior Accountant (Technical/GAAP Accounting) at Minneapolis

Job Description

Our client, a large and highly profitable local organization, is currently hiring for a Senior Technical Accountant/ GAAP Accountant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise various business units on technical accounting oriented issues related to specific transactions and offer feedback/solutions on more efficient structure options
• Document transaction details and related accounting-related conclusions in detailed transaction write-ups
• Analyze and assess the immediate and long term implications of the accounting industry developments and changes as they affect the company and its clients
• Assist Financial Reporting & Advisory in the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure full compliance
• Act as primary liaison with overseas Finance Accounting Policy & Advisory
• Act in varying capacities for Finance on accounting-related special projects

Job Requirements

• BS/BA in Accounting
• Advanced degree preferred
• CPA required
• Ideally a minimum of 3+ years relevant experience (Big 4 Public Accounting Experience Preferred)
• Strong accounting background, with an emphasis on the understanding of US GAAP
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Advanced research, reporting and presentation skills required
• The ability to operate across a variety of business and product areas simultaneously
• Well organized, adept time management skills and ability prioritize
