Solutions Consultant

Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO, depending on the successful candidates location.

This position will assist with the development of strategic plans and project prioritization affecting Metering and Field Operations functions. This role will also touch customer billing, credit, and customer contact center teams.

The person in this position must have a strong technical background; 5+ years of experience with Metering and Field Operations and business processes; and strong interpersonal and communications skills. Regulated utility industry experience is also required.

Candidates for this role must also be able to produce deliverables including plans and presentations that take into consideration the strategic needs of metering and field operational functions. The selected candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to work with both technical and business groups at both a detailed and strategic levels. The ability to communicate effectively with manager and directors levels is required.

Based on overarching business long term need, this individual must be able to understand what capabilities are required, be able to form a strategic technology direction, and support this with high level plans to advance the company to that end state.

Top 3 Skill Sets Needed:

1) 6 years application/IT infrastructure support experience and 8 years utility experience
2) Demonstrated effectiveness within a Solutions Consultant role combined with a proven track record of defining business solutions using the appropriate technology in utility metering and field operations
3) Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related area (6 years experience in a related field may substitute for the degree)

Required Experience:

In-depth knowledge of multiple core applications (e.g., HRIS, Accounting, Work Management, Mapping, and Design, etc.)
Superior communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts and ideas to others (verbal and written) including translating business requirements into technical terms and/or translating technical language into business terminology
Experience recommending innovative technology solutions to support complex business requirements
Superior relationship management facilitation, project management, and problem solving skills
Ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members
Ability to develop management style reporting and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite
