Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer & Coordinator / FG8844 at Faribault

Position Description:

SAGE is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer & Coordinator to support its new High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) plant.

Summary:
This person will provide EHS support in developing, updating, and maintaining SAGEs safety programs to eliminate the occurrences of work related injuries. This position is responsible for coordinating with other departments to ensure all of the required OSHA and EPA programs are in compliance, employee safety related training programs are up to date, and the required Saint Gobain EHS programs, audits and reporting are completed.

Responsibilities:
Acts as a liaison and ombudsman for safety concerns of any employee.
Participates in EHS meetings at all levels.
Supports Safety Key Preformation Indicator (KPI) tracking such as Saint Gobain TF rates and data entry into GAIA system.
Leads incident and near miss investigations and corrective action training
Provide safety ideas and recommendations, brings forth employee concerns.
Conducts plant wide safety audits, LOTO audits, PPE audits.
Supports completing, auditing, reviewing and updating any safety documentation such as LOTO procedures, Safety FMEAs, Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Ergonomic Assessments, AWAIR program, etc...
Conducts employee safety training and safety orientation.
Conducts glass handling training.
Provides input and training of various other programs such as LOTO, Forklift, Crane & Lift Devices, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Contractor Safety.
Supports various Industrial Hygiene (IH) testing (Noise, Air Contamination, etc...)
Coordinates the Respirator Program training and fit testing
Coordinates Audiometric Testing Program
Coordinates and reviews requirements for all required Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)
Required Skills:
Knowledgeable in OSHA, EPA/MPCA, NEC, NFPA, and other regulatory standards applicable to the State of Minnesota
Must have good training skills and abilities.
Fluent in English language speaking and writing
Must have adequate computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, and MS Outlook.
Prefer experience with glass plant and manufacturing experience
Knowledge in the Saint Gobain GAIA system and corporate EHS policies.

Education:
Minimum 4 year degree or equivalent employment history with an emphasis in safety, environmental, and/or engineering.
